Unit 5: From Earth's Orbit to Mars

In the last unit, we saw how a spacecraft reaches Earth orbit and maintains that orbit by traveling extremely fast. Now we will look at what it takes to move beyond Earth orbit and travel into space. We'll also look at how a spacecraft maneuvers in space when there is little gravitational influence. Finally, we'll apply these concepts to different ways of getting to another planet: quickly versus inexpensively.
